!!!!!Deadline for ALL members (including current/returning) has been extended to the July WMT meeting on July 16th.!!!

********************************************************

Registration for the 2022-2023 season is now open!

This will be another year with some slight modifications to registration and membership requirements. Please read carefully

Meeting attendance requirement:
+Meeting attendance is not required again this year. We will still have the meetings and you are encouraged to attend in order to get firsthand information about WMT activities.

Returning members (active members from 2021-22):
+If your notarized membership form is already on file with the WMT, you do not have to fill out and send in a new form. You may just send in membership payment via Paypal, mail, or at a meeting and just note your name and hunter number. If you have added or removed properties, you will need to note those too.
+At this time, non-member permission forms still need to be notarized and turned in each year if you have those.
+If your contact info or other pertinent information has changed, it is probably easier just to fill out a new form as usual. No notary required if your original notarized forms are on file.
+Returning members will need to get their registration in by July 16, 2022.

New and lapsed members:
+You may use the fillable forms, but there is a requirement to have the form notarized. So, you will have to print these and mail the forms into the PO Box or bring them to the March or July meeting. More detailed instructions on registration are provided below.
+The deadline for new and lapsed member registration is July 16, 2022.
+New member registration is for the 2022-2023 season. You may hunt hogs after you register and receive confirmation, but you cannot hunt deer until the start of the 2022-2023 deer season. Please be mindful of current members that are still hunting deer.

Traditional Registration:
Forms must be filled out, signed, notarized (as required), and mailed to the team along with membership fees and postmarked by July 16, 2022 for ALL members.

Mail completed forms and payment to:
Hilltop Lakes Wildlife Management Team
PO BOX 1737
Hilltop Lakes, Texas 77871

Online Registration:
Returning members(member in 2021-22 season): Simply fill out the form(s) if required and send them to membership@hilltoplakeswmt.org. Of course, you may still mail forms to the PO Box or bring them to the March meeting if you wish. Remember that if your notarized forms are already on file, you no longer have to send in new ones.

Payments:
+Payment for membership can be submitted via PayPal to: membership@hilltoplakeswmt.org, mailed to the PO Box, or brought to the March or July meeting.
+All members may use the PayPal method of payment.
+If using PayPal, it is very important that you use the note feature and indicate the member that is to be credited with payment. Otherwise, it may be difficult to match up payments and forms. In the future, this will be fixed to utilize carts, invoices, etc. to keep everyone in sync.
+If your forms must be notarized, you may still submit payment via PayPal. However, you will not be officially verified and allowed to hunt until your notarized forms are received.
+When submitting payment via PayPal, you can try to use the "Friends and Family" option, but if you are not offered a payment method that does not charge YOU a fee, then just pick the "Pay for a Service" option and WMT will pick up the fees. This may change in the future.

General Information

Note:  For the 2022 year, some of the dates and requirements below have been modified due to the current COVID-19 situation.  The dates and requirements in the news box at the top of this page take precedence.  The fees and form requirements here still apply and the rest of this section should go back into effect in 2023.  It is left here as a reference to those looking for typical info on the WMT.

TO HUNT, TRAP, OR OTHERWISE TAKE WILDLIFE AT HILLTOP LAKES YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT TEAM (WMT) AND BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE HILLTOP LAKES POA AND THE WMT

The Hilltop Lakes WMT is an organization formed to provide a safe and healthy balance between wildlife and the human population at Hilltop Lakes. This is accomplished through safe and properly planned management and education. We also pride ourselves in our community volunteer work.

Management of deer is done through particiaption in the TPWD MLDCO management program.  One of the benefits of being an MLDCO is that our deer hunting season is extended through the end of February. However, Hilltop Lakes is NOT a deer lease.  So if you are looking to hang that trophy buck on your wall, then you will be happier hunting somewhere else. Managing the population means the primary focus is on thinning the excess does from the herd.  As such, there are very few buck tags issued each season.  Members do not use the tags issued with their hunting license, but must use the state issued MLDCO tags only.

Another focus of The WMT is hog control at Hilltop Lakes.  WMT members may hunt and trap hogs year round.  It's a great way to keep your skills honed and help combat the destructive hog problem.

Hunting is by bow or crossbow only.

Trapping of hogs is allowed. However, snares, leg holds, jaw traps, or dogs are prohibited.
